Course information

The lectures are given in the Dept of Radiology, University of Cambridge. The time of each lecture is announced few days in advance. There are 6 hours of lectures planned and 26 hours of computer exercises suggested. Most of the time is used to introduce and implement the image analysis models.

Some computer exercises are suggested and attendants can take them on the interest after the lectures in their own computers. The computer exercises can be carried out in groups of 2-3. You are not required to use specific computer languages and tools. C++, MATLAB, OpenCV, VTK, and ITK are powerful to carry out the exercises. Some of the algorithms are complicated and the computations can be very time-consuming. You can well understand these algorithms fully by implementing them, so that you can test the effect of varying data and parameters. Only attending the 6-hour lectures is also welcome. By that you can understand what the computer can do with the images.
